The iPhone 18 Pro Max price in Nigeria could pass ₦2 million if Apple increases prices this year. Analysts expect Apple’s next flagship phone to start at about $1,399 in the United States, up from the iPhone 17 Pro Max, after memory chip costs surged.

Apple has not announced the official price. However, any increase in the US price will likely push up the cost for Nigerian buyers after exchange rates, import charges and retailer margins are added.

Why Apple May Raise The iPhone 18 Pro Max Price

Counterpoint Research says Apple could spend about $300 more to build each iPhone 18 Pro Max than it spent on the previous model. The sharp rise in memory chip prices accounts for most of the increase.

Demand for AI servers and data centres has reduced the supply of DRAM and NAND memory chips, causing prices to climb. Counterpoint Research expects those higher prices to continue through 2026.

Apple also plans to introduce the A20 Pro chip. The processor uses a new 2-nanometre design and wafer-level multi-chip module (WMCM) packaging to improve speed and support more on-device AI features. However, the new technology also costs more to produce.

Reports say Apple will continue buying memory chips from Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron after Chinese supplier CXMT failed to meet Apple’s production standards.

What The Higher Price Could Mean For Nigeria

If Apple launches the iPhone 18 Pro Max at about $1,399, Nigerian retailers could sell the device for more than ₦2 million. The final price will depend on the naira’s exchange rate, import costs and retailer pricing.

Apple has not revealed how it will handle the higher production costs. However, the company removed the 128GB option from the iPhone 15 Pro Max and made the 256GB model the entry-level version. Analysts expect Apple to use the same approach for the iPhone 18 Pro lineup.

Apple will likely unveil the iPhone 18 Pro Max during its September launch event, where it should confirm the official price, storage options and release date.
